School Uniform Policy

We have a strong expectation that children attending Newtown Community Primary School will follow our Uniform and Appearance Policy.

We are very proud of the fact that the vast majority of our pupils wear the correct uniform every day, creating a very smart, purposeful look for school life.

We believe wearing the correct school uniform and having high expectations about our appearance are an important part of school life.

We believe that wearing the correct uniform;

  • Gives you a feeling of pride in our school,
  • Builds a strong team spirit and a sense of belonging,
  • Shows we have high expectations in everything we do,
  • Helps us know that the school is a place for learning,
  • Speeds up getting ready in the morning - (no difficult what not to wear choices!)

When we are out and about wearing the correct uniform;

  • Lets the public know who we are when we are showing outstanding behaviour on trips,
  • Helps you stay safe – if you get lost on a trip people will know where you are from.
