Chance to Shine

As many of you will be aware, we have been taking part in Chance to Shine, A Wiltshire cricket programme this term. Maple, Chestnut, Ash and Oak have all been learning cricket skills on Wednesdays. Each term, Chance to Shine choose one school and one teacher who has stood out for exemplary learning and development. You will be pleased to know that not only did Newtown win the school of the term but we also had the wonderful Miss Giddings winning teacher of the term!

Ali Goddard of Wiltshire Chance to Shine said:

Newtown Community Primary School have fully embraced the Chance to Shine Programme, with teachers & pupils alike getting involved.

The children have shown a willingness to learn & improve throughout the past 5 weeks & have also fully supported the playground leaders sessions.

Miss Giddings gets fully involved in her class sessions encouraging the children to get involved & challenge themselves where possible as well as promoting good teamwork.

As proud winners of teacher and school of the term, we have kindly received two full cricket sets to add to our PE equipment. Well done Newtown and well done Miss Giddings!
